*** UPDATE! ***
It’s here!!! This week, on Thursday, November 8 at 8:00pm at the Greenfields Pub in Barrhaven, I’m hosting a little shindig called Purplepalooza 2012. What’s it all about? It’s a concert and fundraiser for Team in Training, the running organization I belong to that raises funds for blood cancer research.
We have a wicked night planned. My good friend Bob Corson has generously donated the time of two bands he plays in – FOAM and Lost ‘n Found – for the event. And it’s an open-mic night! Bring some friends – and your harmonica or cowbell – and be the rock star you’ve always been (at least in your mind).
Greenfields has generously agreed to have a special event “Purple Menu” for the evening (until 9pm), and to offer two purple-themed specialty drinks – “Purple Rain” (martini) and “Purple Haze” (shooter). Money from special menu/drink purchases will go toward the cause.
We’ll also have door prizes, raffles, a silent auction and a 50:50 draw. All for a good cause!
There are two price points for the event:
- $20 per person – General Admission: gets you into the event.
- $40 per person – VIP Admission: gets you into the event, including a three-course meal from the specialty menu (at a reduced price), and reserved seating near the dance floor!
Note: kids 12 and under get in free (but you’ll have to pay for their meals/drinks).
To purchase your tickets: it’s easy! Click here to go to my fundraising page and pledge the appropriate amount. If you are purchasing more than one ticket, or $40 tickets for the VIP meal deal, leave a note on the donation page with the names of those attending so I can ensure your name goes on the guest list at the door.
If you cannot make the event, but would like to support the cause – go to the same link above, and simply donate. I will be forever grateful – thank you in advance.
That’s it. Dare I say, it’s gonna be purple-epic. Hope to see you there!!!
